In today's world everyone needs some kind of insurance. The problem really lies in finding the insurance that is right for your needs. With so many different types of insurance these days, it is often a little overwhelming. While this article can't cover everything, here are some of the different kinds of insurance that is available, and what it briefly covers.
If you own your own business, you need business insurance. There are different kinds of business coverage, but basically this type of insurance is needed and covers a variety of different aspects. If you have employees, this insurance covers them if they get injured on the job. There is coverage that covers your customers. For example if you have a painting business, and you are painting someone's home and damage their property, your insurance covers replacement of that property. Business insurance also covers you if you are sued for any reason as well. Many people won't even hire, or work for you if you don't have business insurance.
There are also many different types of household insurance. There is homeowner's insurance, which covers your home in case of a natural disaster, fire damage, or an act of God. If you have a mortgage, your lender will require that you have this insurance. There is appliance insurance, which is different than homeowner's insurance. This type covers all of your major appliances, your refrigerator, heating and air conditioning systems, etc, from breakdowns and repairs. This can be extremely helpful if your dishwasher breaks down, or or air conditioning unit needs fixing. Then there is renter's insurance. This covers all your personal belonging if you are renting and something happens, like the things mentioned above.
Life insurance is coverage for when you die, basically. This can cover your final expenses, and help your loved ones financially after you are gone. Depending on the type of insurance policy, you may even be able to borrow money against the policy after a period of time, to help you in an emergency situation. These policies are abundant and offered from a variety of companies, and it is a good idea to do your research thoroughly if you are considering life insurance.
Then there is temporary insurance. This covers a wide range of different aspects, but is basically covering you on a short term basis. For a few examples, if you are renting a car, and don't have a regular auto policy, then you get temporary insurance on the vehicle you are renting. If you travel, then there are short term insurance for if you get sick while on vacation, have an accident and need medical attention, and there is even insurance to cover your baggage, your expenses if you are in an area where a hurricane cuts your travel plans short, etc. In some cases, your regular insurance policies may also have temporary coverage as well.
As you can see, there are many different kinds of insurance. All of these help to cover you, whether it's health insurance to help cover medical expenses, automobile insurance in case you have an accident while driving, and many others. Because not all insurance companies and policies are the same, you need to take your time, compare coverage, as well as rates from several different companies in order to choose the one that is right for you. |
